Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Communicating effectively : you can clearly express ideas and information to others and flex your style according to the specific situation and audience
  • Managing your market : you excel at evaluating local market characteristics, trends and drivers, and you effectively prioritize and manage the performance of a portfolio of accounts to business value
  • Identifying and articulating Partner needs : you are capable to create value for Partners by identifying, clarifying and prioritizing partner needs
  • Formulating and positioning solutions : you enjoy creating “win-win” value for partners by matching needs to relevant offerings and presenting these in compelling ways
  • Gaining commitment : you have the capability to move partner conversations forward and lead conversations to a successful outcome
  • Representing Booking.com : you can exhibit professional behavior and act as a role model of the Booking.com values before, during and after interactions with partners
  • Self-awareness, managing and developing yourself : you have the capability to achieve business goals and make the difference in interacting with partners by recognizing the emotions of oneself and of others and to use this information to guide thinking and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant account management/sales function
  • Fluent English and Icelandic speaker and writer
  • Affinity or experience within e-commerce and/or travel industry are considered a plus
  • Pro-active, sense of responsibility and can work independently; team player, self-motivated, flexible and open to change
  • Driver’s license and availability to travel up to 50%

Role Overview

Please note, this isa permanent position & is a fixed term contract for circa 9 months.


Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Pro-active communication with partners in your region by market visits, telephone and by internal messaging to assist with the development of the business

  • Responsible for a portfolio of partners where you are the first point of contact, answering questions and following up when needed, also responsible for evaluating local market characteristics, trends and drivers

  • Responsible for maintaining a stable relationship with the accommodation partners (i.e. frequent performance calls and contact to ensure they offer Booking.com’s customers the best availability and competitive pricing)

  • Be knowledgeable on Booking.com’s products so that their benefits and usage can be explained to Partners

  • Find opportunities for partners that will help improve Booking.com’s business by using its internal segmentation to prioritize

  • Help identifying new potential partner leads and pass this leads on for further follow up

  • Responsible for taking Customer Service issues which relate to their portfolio and solving these in the most efficient manner for the business, partner and customer

  • Support the organization of events, such as workshops and webinars, for partners. Also encouraged to attend in the partner events for their portfolio

  • Be aware in terms of public affairs and public relations in their scope, becoming familiar with the different regulations and laws approved and affecting our industry.

Role Qualifications and Requirements

  • Significant experience in a relevant account management/sales/business development function

  • Strong commercial and communication skills

  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish

  • Proven experience within e-commerce and/or travel industry

  • Proactive with a sense of responsibility and can work independently

  • Accurate, strong analytical skills and an eye for detail

  • A team player, self-motivated, flexible and open to change

  • Open to learn mindset

  • Time management and prioritization skills are essential

  • Driver’s license

  • Availability to travel up to 50% to a designated area within the country
