ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Perform as a senior analyst and support other data scientists to assess fraud risk and develop strategies and mitigation efforts that balance risk and client experience.
3. Perform sophisticated analytics including exploratory data analysis and machine learning to provide strategy recommendations and actionable insights.
4. Passionate about fraud mitigation, and able to leverage advanced analytics to build proactive fraud strategies.
5. Evaluate new capabilities, risk models, and features.
6. Produce data visualizations to communicate insights, monitor fraud trends, and strategy performances.
7. Take accountability and ownership of end-to-end data science solution design, technical delivery, and measurable business outcome.
8. Independently write, document, and deploy custom code in a variety of environments (Python, SAS, R, etc.) to create predictive analytics applications.
9. Exercise sound judgment and foster risk management culture throughout design, development, and deployment practices; partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate rules on data usage, data governance and analytics capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor’s degree and four or more years of experience in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent education and related training
2. Three years of banking or financial industry experience; preferably in card fraud, financial crimes, or other risks roles. Knowledge of Reg E and other regulations that apply to fraud
3. One year experience in building and deploying card fraud rules
4. Three years experience using SAS, SQL, Tableau, or Python tools. Advanced analytical, statistics skills to build effective rules and strategies. Modeling experience a plus
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and external entities (e.g. external fraud vendors)
6. Strong analytical, time management, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering
2. Four years of relevant work experience if candidate lacks graduate degree
3. Experience with TSYS, FIS or FISERV
4. Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
