Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Practical experience in designing,trainingor fine-tuning Transformer models or LLMs, as well as usage of applied LLM design patterns such as prompt engineering, flow engineering, RAG, self-review,reACT, guardrails, etc.
• 3+ years practical ML Engineering and Python coding experience leveragingPyTorchor TensorFlow or similar framework, within large code repositories and in collaboration withadditionalteam members

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Practical experience developing applications using prompt engineering, fine tuning, OpenAIor Azure Open AI APIs.
• System development skills spanning rapid prototypes to production systems with complex dependencies.

• Conduct applied science experiments,createandvalidatemetrics, develop ML pipelines and algorithms in the fields of Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, and/or Computer Vision.
• Collaborate closely with other research and product groups within the wider Microsoft organization, to create the next generation of AI innovation in our products and services.
