Qualcomm's XR Architecture Team is seeking a systems engineer to develop technologies and architectures, enabling the next generation of Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality applications. The successful candidate may be responsible for:
Understanding the use cases and underlying design flows of AR/VR and related technologies, with focus on perception technologies
Use internal simulation environment and modeling tools to characterize performance of SoC components as per the established KPIs
Create and/or modify system level simulation models capturing the design flows of AR/VR perception algorithms and simulate forward looking configurations and scenarios
Work with the system architecture and algorithm design/implementation teams to validate power and performance KPIs using the simulation models
Understand SoC components and architecture factors affecting performance of the AR/VR perception algorithms and translate them into forward looking evolution of the design
Collaborating with the technology experts from extended engineering teams to understand the current and future design/implementation of perception technologies on SoCs
For this multi-disciplinary role an ideal candidate has experience in AR/VR, computer vision, machine learning, perception, camera technology, SoC architecture, and/or system modeling (power, performance, thermal).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years of experience in architecture/design in the areas listed above
Experience in conducting simulation/modeling, power/performance analysis and/or SW-HW trade-offs
Knowledge of perception technologies particularly in AR/VR, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods and/or camera pipelines
Experience with system level modeling (performance and/or power)
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Outstanding communication skills
C/C++ and/or Python
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
*Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).

Pay range:
$97,000.00 - $145,000.00
