Qualifications:- Previous work experience in the Mainframe environment.
- Proficient in Mainframe JCL, SAS, IBM WLM REXX and IBM Utilities. - Knowledge of IBM zSystems, Dell/EMC Storage and replication software and IBM Virtual Tape hardware preferred.- Ability to work independently, effectively organize, prioritize, and execute tasks/responsibilities to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills- Highly self-motivated and directed, requiring minimum supervision, with keen attention to detail.Job Responsibilities:- Configuration Management and Maintenance for the Mainframe zSystem Hardware
- Installs, configures, changes, and maintains Capacity, Performance and Availability Software
- Maintains an extensive set of Data Files and Reporting Systems on all mainframe workloads
- Provides Technical Support for Mainframe Capacity, Performance and Availability
- May be responsible for third party vendor interactions, managing hardware and configuration management software that provides solutions for the following items:
 IBM zSeries Computers
 IBM Coupling Facilities
 IBM Hardware Master Consoles
- Also requires working Knowledge of Storage Subsystems, Networks and Switches
- Capacity and Performance Management Software & Processes to Predict or Track Utilization
- Own the Mainframe zSeries hardware configurations and enhance them to reduce operation time, add functionality, or improve efficiency of use- IBM Workload Manager configuration for Performance Management
- BMC Tools for Monitoring and Data Optimization
- Detailed Measurement Data Collection from System Level input including IBM SMF, RMF, CMF and many other product files
- Data Reduction using CA-MICS and Merrill MXG software in SAS Language and other vendor utilities
- Owns Dashboards & detailed reporting for Daily, Weekly and Monthly activity
Job Description
  • Manages the requirements for planning, organizing, and implementing enterprise-wide technology infrastructure and configuration management functions.
  • Leads the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of major configuration changes from acquisition to termination.
  • Oversees the effective implementation and use of the configuration management process, methodology, tools, procedures, and audit activities.
  • Develops and publishes metrics to qualify and quantify configuration success; ensures that configuration practices are in compliance with standards.
  • Ensures the accuracy and validity of the configuration database for content on assets, major infrastructure and platform components, system documentation and service components.

Configuration Management, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), IT Quality Assurance, Performance Measurement and Tuning, Software Change Request Management, Software Product Installation and Support, System and Technology Integration, Systems Software InfrastructureRoles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired.
