THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED IN MILAN, MADRID, LONDON, PARIS, DUSSELDORF

The key responsibilities of this role will be to build, develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, engaging them on their fields of interest and on areas of strategic importance to BSC. Be the EMEA Voice for New Indications Development supporting EMEA SLT and MKT LT. Share and discuss clinical data with customers and field questions on data on BSC products and/or therapeutic areas. Capture European Research Needs (Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) filter requests and support ISR execution with Clinical Dpt, Research Collaboration with NRAC Dpt, Ancillary Research Grants (ARGs) and 3rd Parties Grants). Contribute to EMEA clinical plans and messaging for BSC products. The role will focus on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) technologies.

Data Generation

  • Evaluate external clinical research proposals and collaborate with Clinical department, NRAC, HEMA and EMEA sales & marketing groups to advise on how research proposals fit the overall clinical strategy
  • Participate in the development of the EMEA clinical evidence plan (assessing gaps and needs) that aligns with BSC strategic focus and drives research topics of interests to support expansion to new indications, marketing claims, and statements on patient outcomes
  • Provide support for scientific rigor of all regional BSC funded research
  • Communicate with the investigators on all scientific questions prior, during and after the review process for ISR, RC and ARG submissions in close collaboration with Clinical, NRAC Teams
  • During the conduct of the ISR or ARG project, stay in close contact with investigators, arranging scientific support, help to monitor the progress of the project in order to provide clear project status during reviews with Clinical, NRAC, and EMEA SLT, MKT LT
  • Inform relevant BSC departments (e.g. R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Health Economics, local affiliates, etc.) who may benefit from results or publications from the supported project. An early link to these departments will also assure to define and track the right milestones for quarterly and annual reports
  • Ensure clinical evidence generation supports BSC strategic needs regionally (for example GEM development), with equitable participation in research from the EMEA region being the EMEA voice with Global Team during AOP, Strat Plan
  • Develop relationships with EMEA KOLs and field personnel through scheduled meetings and other interactions
  • Act as Scientific liaison between commercial and Global Scientific teams

Data Dissemination and Others

  • Provide clinical presentations and high level pipeline presentations in key targeted accounts. Collaborate closely with functional partners (e.g. Sales, Marketing) group to develop and execute KOL programs (including our EMEA Medical Educational Events)
  • Execute and support physicians in delivering Medical Educational programs (e.g. symposia)
  • Lead the content and format of EMEA medical symposium/congress presentations (ensure strategic focus)
  • Lead and contribute to content for clinical messaging and Medical Educational programs
  • Participate in the Global clinical evidence plan creation and follow-up with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Scientific Communication, Clinical, NRAC, etc.)
  • Lead data dissemination on relevant clinical evidence coming out of EMEA congresses or clinical papers in collaboration with Global and Countries TDS
  • Engage identified HCPs and KOLs to demonstrate the clinical outcome and benefits of company products, technologies and therapies; to exchange clinical, safety and comparative-effectiveness information; to explore clinical areas of need and to discuss corporate initiatives
  • Lead EMEA Advisory Boards to collect Clinicians Feedbacks on Products Development, Clinical, Education, other topics supporting EMEA Strategy in collaboration with key internal Stakeholders

Procedural

  • Communicate with cross-functional team frequently to align on priorities
  • Be a strong advocate for patient outcomes and investment in research
  • Support internal training initiatives when appropriate
  • Support scientific phrasing of claims in marketing collaterals

Knowledge & Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with strong scientific acumen, excellent presentation and communication skills, and collaborative approach.

  • PhD in Neurosciences (or equivalent relevant qualification)
  • Specialised knowledge of clinical issues associated with Deep Brain Stimulation
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical research, device development process, regulatory requirements, laws and good clinical practices
  • Experience in running clinical trials advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Demonstrated strength in developing and delivering strong, storytelling presentations
  • Proven ability to communicate complex data to diverse audience
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects; particularly clinical research programmes
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing and able to travel as required by workload (30-50%)
