Required/minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
    
• 2+ years of experience building Kubernetes-based applications
• 2+ years working with Envoy, Istio, YARP and side-cars

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
• 1+ years experience with ONNX runtime and models.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity to prioritize issues
• Good understanding of UX frameworks and HTTP protocol basics

As an Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will help build our next-generation front-end layer that powers online experiences across Microsoft AI. You will also get to work with engineers acrossdifferent partsof the organization to make their services more reliable and performant.

• Build extremely low-latency reverse-proxies that can scale dynamically and are deployed globally.

• gRPC

• side-carsfor CNCF-friendly proxies like Envoy, Istio, YARP etc.

• Build capabilities leveraging ONNX Runtime to run SLMs like Phi-2 for dynamic detections within reverse-proxies

• Collaborate with partner teams that deliver experiences like Copilot, Multimedia Search and Advertising to deliver platform-level features across all of them

• Design, write and implement services with performance, efficiency, re-usability, and maintainability as core focus
