As a Qualcomm Hardware Engineer, you will plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, bring-up yield, circuits, mechanical systems, Digital/Analog/RF/optical systems, equipment and packaging, test systems, FPGA, and/or DSP systems that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Hardware Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
In this leadership role, you will lead a highly competent large team working in multiple areas of platform development, namely, firmware, compilers, FE synthesis, Place and route, board design, IP design & verification like LPDDR/PCDDR models, Virtual peripherals, virtual JTAG etc.
Would also involve enabling execution teams doing SOC prototyping during their usage of the platform. Would need to build strong innovative teams (mentoring, coaching, hiring) to solve complex problems while managing employee morale and reducing attrition. Strong stakeholder management skills would be required to work across sites with key leads/teams. Role would require defining roadmap by identifying new innovative features and selling the ideas to product leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
10-15 years of experience working in emulation and silicon environments. Candidates are expected to have experience in:
Prior work experience on Emulation Platforms (FPGA Prototyping, Veloce, Palladium)
Emulation tools (Synthesis, Place and Route, Constraints, Clocking) System Debug (Waveform generation and Content Debug support)
SoC Functionality (CPU/DSP Core, Multimedia, IO, Peripherals, DDR, Modem, Bus Protocols)
Design and verification skills
Develop synthesizable models for certain IPs to speed up emulation deployment for a design
Strong debug skills, aptitude to learn and resolve complex issues
Knowledge of LPDDR3/4 or PCDDR
System Verilog & UVM
ARM CPU and SoC architectures (ADI/AMBA / ARM v8 etc)
Validation and debug of digital circuits
Scripting: Proficient in Python, TCL.
