Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivering agenda across the Asia Banking Ops regulatory landscape.
- Accountable for the documenting and delivering transactional regulatory compliance requirements for APAC
- Build out the control framework and ensures sufficient internal controls and procedures are in place to minimize the risk
- Exhibits knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment, and their implication to Asia Banking Operations.
- Work on the change management practices for regulatory changes and keeps abreast of regulatory changes and manages evolving demands.
- Work with ops on regulatory reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the regulatory reports. Implement tactical controls and drives automation and other improvement opportunities.
- Deliver Asia Banking Ops regulatory-related projects including Automation and Change Management.
- Partner various initiatives with local and regional key stakeholders such as compliance, product, LCOs, BCOs regarding regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A deep background in banking products and a strong understanding of Asia markets and the regulatory environment
- Willingness to take ownership and accountability to deliver business goals – execution to achieve specific desired results
- Proven ability to use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to partner with local, regional and global teams
- Proven ability to identify opportunities and promptly initiate action and escalate potential risks to minimize loss
- Strong commitment to providing high standards of controls and compliance
- Adaptability in maintaining standards and adjusting effectively to operate within new work structures, processes or requirements
- Ability to effectively address and manage conflicts
- Ability to communicate pro-actively and openly with internal and external business partners – to executive level
- Proven ability to implement and manage change across direct units as well as remote units.
- Graduate with Minimum 5/7 years of work experience in a financial institution
- Working knowledge of various aspects of International Payment Processing Operations.
- Working/Expert Knowledge of SWIFTS & international payment conventions & practices is a must.
- Strong Interpersonal skills to be able to communicate internally & externally and at all levels.
- Excellent written & oral communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to build strong business relationships within the site and across the business.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow through.
- Escalate issues as appropriate.
- Ability to use creative problem solving techniques to solve business issues.
- Strong PC, project management, and analytical skills.
