A Release Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases. The primary goal is to ensure that software products or updates are released in a smooth and efficient manner. As a Release Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of software products while maintaining stability and minimizing disruptions. Effective communication, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement are essential skills for this role.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading cross functional projects, programs and releases to facilitate bringing mission critical Data and AI software offering to market
• Work with the engineering teams , product management teams, and designers across business functional to develop and execute scope and schedule of solutions
• Responsible for putting together risk mitigation plans,identifying & managing dependencies, escalation of issues, closely managing scopeand schedule and reporting status.
• Being proactive and have growth mindset of addressing complex issues. Work with leadership to identify and improve process efficiency.
• Manage and lead initiatives involving multiple functions across a portfolio of project teams to drive the engineering development and execution process for as a service offering and solutions.
• Manage the release schedules, critical deliverables, key milestones, and other key requirements for successful delivery.
• Effectively communicate the progress, escalations, risks and environments—a flexible foundation for leveraging data, wherever it resides, to extend AI deep into a business.
• Manage a detailed plan to ensure the progress against the established plan and make determinations based on risks to update schedule to meet product requirements, schedule and quality criteria
• Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies for process optimization
• Define and track key performance indicators related to release
• Generate release status reports and present to stake holder
• Ensure that releases comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies

• 3-5 years experience as Release or Project Manager
• Proficient in Release Management related to SaaS and Onprem products
• Proficient in risk management process
• Ability to effectively communicate project plans,risks and outcomes
• Previous experience in release coordination
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience managing projects and programs in complex cross-team environment
• Experience with Agile Development, Design Thinking and Security and Privacy by Design
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• IBM Cloud SaaS experience preferred
• IBM Cloud Paks and certification process preferred
