Key Responsibilities:
The Data Risk Officer – VPwill ideally be an experienced risk manager with experience in data risk management or data governance in a globally complex, dispersed, and diverse financial services organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience across disciplines of data risk management with the following capabilities:
- Demonstrable track record of identifying, assessing, monitoring, and measuring data risks within a highly complex global business.
- Credibility when assessing adherence to policies/standards and adoption of data management capabilities
- Proficiency in risk and control data analysis and visualization, in particular the ability to incorporate and understand a mass of information from a variety of sources to recommend a course of action.
- Responsibility to appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation, and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively overseeing the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

- Demonstrated expertise in a data governance or data risk role.
- Broad experience across financial services products and processes, to include exposure to operational risk management within this domain.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills in a complex, diverse environment.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/University degree.
- 8 or more years’ experience in operational risk management, data management/governance, control-related functions, or in-business risk and control groups in a financial services firm.
- Broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations including regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of data management, data governance, data quality or related data concepts (DAMA DMBOK) preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CDMP, CPA, CIA, CISM).
