Uber Senior Product Manager Merchant Catalog Tooling
United States, West Virginia

09.04.2025

About the Role

As a Product Manager focused on Merchant Catalog Tooling, you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering merchants to create, manage, and optimize their product offerings across all of Uber Eats. You’ll help design the tools and systems that power catalog and menu management for single-location operators as well as large, multi-location enterprises.

This role is about more than just enabling item creation and management, it’s about unlocking business growth. You’ll own a critical suite of merchant-facing tools (UI’s and bulk tooling) that enable seamless catalog management and also drive insights and recommendations to help merchants improve product discovery, pricing, and operational health.

As we scale Uber Eats, your mission is to make catalog and menu management a strategic advantage for our merchant partners. You’ll focus on both merchant-facing tooling and internal operations workflows, ensuring the systems we build are accurate, efficient, and optimized for growth.

This is a representative sampling of the areas you might be tackling:

  1. Develop the vision and roadmap for merchant-facing catalog and menu tooling, balancing usability, scale, and operational efficiency.
  2. Build tooling that allows merchants to manage catalogs across single and multiple locations with ease.
  3. Design and implement bulk tools for catalog management—supporting use cases from product onboarding to real-time updates.
  4. Partner with data science and engineering teams to surface intelligent suggestions for pricing, product assortment, and menu configuration.
  5. Create systems that flag misconfigurations or incomplete data, improving the accuracy and reliability of our catalog.
  6. Collaborate with internal operations teams to streamline workflows for onboarding and maintaining merchant catalogs at scale.
  7. Define metrics and OKRs to measure catalog completeness, merchant engagement, and tooling impact on business outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience building and shipping successful product experiences in cross-functional teams
  2. Experience in catalog, inventory, menu management, or similar merchant tooling domains
  3. Proven ability to design intuitive interfaces and backend systems that simplify complex workflows
  4. Technical depth. Whether through a CS degree, engineering experience, or building deeply technical products with engineers
  5. Attention to detail. The ability to obsess over every single part of the merchant tooling experience.
  6. Excellent communication skills. You can clearly articulate product decisions and collaborate with stakeholders from operations to engineering
  7. A strong sense of ownership. You’re not afraid to dive into details and drive a project from idea to execution
  8. A passion for data. You’re fluent in using data to inform decisions and identify opportunities
  9. An obsession with the merchant experience. You advocate for your users and seek to build products that make their jobs easier and more successful
  10. Comfort with ambiguity. You can bring structure and clarity to undefined problem spaces

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience building 0→1 products or launching internal tools
  2. Background in restaurants, grocery, retail, eCommerce, or CPG industries
  3. Experience with recommendation and/or products to incentivize merchant/business behaviors
  4. Experience working with large datasets or leveraging AI/ML to drive product insights
