Healthcare Integration Engineer
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of integration solutions, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with clinical and technical clients to understand their integration needs and assist in the design and delivery of interoperable solutions.
- Work closely with on-, near-, and off-shore technical teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful integration and data flow.
- Support business development pursuits to drive growth in the Digital Health Practice, particularly in integration-related services.
- Provide HL7 FHIR subject matter technical expertise consultation and hands-on technical guidance for interoperability projects, assisting with design and data flow of public/private health interfaces.
- Maintain understanding of current and emerging public health interoperability standards and understand implications of current and future usage.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of professional services working experience in a healthcare context, with a focus on integration solutions.
- Proven experience of working with the Rhapsody integration engine. Experience of other integration engines and Microsoft integration services is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) EDI engines such as Rhapsody.
- Proven experience with healthcare standards (such as HL7 v2, FHIR, openEHR, IHE, SNOMED , etc.).
- Good understanding of HL7 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.) and healthcare data workflows.
- Familiarity with FHIR, IHE, and other interoperability standards.
- Experience providing technical training on FHIR interoperability standards.
- Familiarity with the UK and Ireland healthcare system landscapes and reference architectures is a plus.
- Proven experience in delivering large-scale integration solutions in healthcare environments.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, ensuring timely delivery of integration projects.
