Consultant - Tax Policy and Controversy

We are looking for a Consultant within the Tax Controversy team in our Perth office. We provide an end-to-end Tax Controversy service to our clients, which enables the role to have a lot of variety. As our Consultant – Tax Controversy & Policy, you will advise clients on a broad range of tax matters with a focus on the technical and tactical management of all things tax.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist with providing advice to a range of clients, from large corporates to high-net-worth individuals, helping them to develop and document their tax corporate governance processes and test the operational effectiveness of their tax corporate governance framework.
  • Research matters of tax administration, get involved in dispute resolution processes and help clients respond to requests for information in the context of ATO reviews and audits.
  • Be involved in the drafting of objections, private binding ruling requests, requests for amended assessments and submissions against penalties.

  • Law Degree
  • Admitted to practice
  • Tax technical skills or the ability to acquire
  • Ability to develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service
  • Ability to work with a number of different clients and internal stakeholders on multiple deadlines
