Manager, Capital Markets Legal Counsel

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as a strategic partner to Corporate Treasury by advising on collateral, asset liability and risk management functions as well as a variety of securities and derivatives projects

• Advising the Commercial Bank’s Capital Markets line of business on various capital markets transactions

• Providing legal advice on complex and novel issues including trading and netting agreements as well as disclosure documents

• Managing legal processes and projects that help the business succeed

Basic Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

• At least 3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of capital markets related experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, at a financial institution or a combination

• Working knowledge of capital markets transactions and securities trading documentation

• Familiarity generally with Treasury related functions, including but not limited to, clearing and margining of derivatives and knowledge of related documentation (i.e., FCM and IM Agreements as well as ISDAs).

This role is hybrid meaning associates spend 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are options for in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.

McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, CounselThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
