This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.Your expertise as a top-level Windows server system engineer, with extensive experience in Windows 2019 and 2022 will help you to succeed in this role.Responsibilities:
• Responsible for product ownership of the Windows Server operating system at PNC.
• Define standards for the operating system.
• Create and maintain product roadmaps, standards guides, configuration guides, hardening guides, standard operating procedures, and other forms of documentation.
• Responsible for server build templates.
• Must be able to conceptualize, test, and provide solutions to meet business needs.
• You will participate in a regular weekly rotation where you will be on call for escalations from the Level 2 Site Reliability Center, and to perform after-hours change work.Required Skills:
• A sense of ownership and responsibility for maintaining the standards, currency, security, and viability of the Windows Server operating system at PNC.
• Must be proficient and productive in documentation. Must possess superior and consistent written documentation skills. Candidate must be proficient in producing roadmaps and technical guides to be used by provisioning teams and support teams.
• Experience deploying servers in Azure cloud and on prem.
• A self-starter with time management skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
In addition:
• Experience in a large (13,000+ Windows servers) 24/7 environment
• Must be able to communicate clearly
• Experience dealing with Windows vulnerabilities and their remediation
• Knowledge of Active Directory
• Experience in Group Policy
• Ansible automation
• Ability to script in PowerShell
• Knowledge of IP networks, firewalls and proxies
• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification is preferred
Job Description
  • Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions.
  • Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.
  • May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff.
  • Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.
  • Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.
