Applies engineering values to design, modify or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products.
What a typical day looks like:
- Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design.
- Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors.
- Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
- Compiles and research facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
- Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Guides projects and project teams.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience and training.
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience.
If the position is within the medical industry, the following knowledge, experience, and qualification(s) are required:
- Matter Expertise in one or more of the following areas: clean rooms, Walk-in Coolers & Freezers, RO/DI Water systems, Waste Neutralization, Compressed gas distribution systems, vacuum systems, Process chillers and non-clean utilities.
- Manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry; preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma.
- Facilities Engineering construction activity at MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) discipline.
- Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review (FRACAS).
- Utilities (steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, compressed air).
