Your Responsibilities

  • Lead a product focused global engineering organization that is responsible for new product development, product line extensions, value engineering and sustaining engineering.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, inclusion, collaboration, continual improvement and customer centricity across the engineering teams. Drives a culture that ensures compliance to GEHC Quality Management System, industry standards and regulatory requirements; champions total product quality initiatives across the value chain for a world class customer experience.
  • Drive platforming and modernization of technologies, engineering development infrastructure and engineering methodologies to enable product differentiation, engineering efficiency and business growth.
  • Align engineering organizational design and talent strategy to achieve short term and strategic business goals. Responsible for building the right talent mix through acquisition, development and retention.
  • Partner with the MIC leadership team to drive cross functional teaming across programs and initiatives that span the total product lifecycle.
  • Accountable for a significant direct budget, with full responsibility for forecasting, cost management, scenario planning, modeling and target achievement.
  • Develops peer, cross-functional and cross-SBU and GE Healthcare relationships to maximize business outcomes, best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 10+ years progressive leadership experience in product design engineering and engineering operations, or engineering-related fields
  • Demonstrated leadership bringing technology ideas that influence success, within a regulated industry.
  • Experience leading large organization within a global matrixed structure
  • Ability to lead leaders with technical, clinical, operational and business backgrounds.
  • Strong Financial Acumen
  • Highly effective in working horizontally – and ultimately, building product and technology enterprise solutions
  • Analytical, creative and business-focused problem solver
  • Ability to learn complex systems and business processes and define requirements for solutions
  • Lean orientation - diligently focused on engineering efficiency and related strategies
  • Proven as a trusted business partner and technical advisor
  • Strong, clear and simple communicator who operates as a credible and respected spokesperson internally and externally, both to internal stakeholders and the marketplace

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Medical Device Product development processes and standards
  • Experience in systems engineering, service engineering, hardware, embedded software, enterprise IT systems and digital solutions.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and demonstrated clinical and customer orientation
  • Experience building technology platforms
