Your key responsibilities
As Indirect Tax, Manager you’ll primarily be responsible for working on indirect tax advisory engagements. You will be using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues.
Core elements of the role include;
- Demonstrating an advanced understanding of indirect tax concepts and effectively applying this indirect tax knowledge to client situations
- Carrying out technical research, drafting memos, letters of opinion and various reports as part of a client’s detailed indirect tax review
- Developing and delivering timely services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations
- Preparing practical and creative solutions applicable to the client’s tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusions
- Independently managing multiple engagements
- Identifying future opportunities for indirect tax engagements
To qualify for the role you must have;
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on accounting, finance or law
- 4 or more years of relevant, progressive, Canadian tax experience
- Enrollment in or completion of one of the CPA, CPA In-depth Tax Course, CPA In-depth GST HST Program, MTax, LLM or LLB would be an asset
- Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- A high level of drive and motivation along with a commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
