As an Android performance engineer, candidates will own or participate in one or more of the following:
Good knowledge on Android memory management and tuning LMK parameters.
Multiple aspects of architectural analysis and modeling, including forecasting CPU/MIPS, bus bandwidth, and memory utilization for current and next generation chipsets to meet the growing product requirements on processors across various subsystems on the SoC.
Tune and optimize kernel parameters to improve overall system performance.
Optimize user experience. Analyze stutters and janky frames and provide system level solutions to improve the performance.
Improve application launch latencies and user switch latencies.
Optimize the performance of Google Automotive Services and execute ATS test suite across all chipsets.
Debug system level performance issues.
Identifying Benchmarks for Performance Qualification, defining goals and optimization
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Engineer with 3 – 5 years of industry experience required in one or more of the following areas:
Performance optimizations in the areas: CPUs, GPU, DDR, Sensor, NSP, Multimedia Media Benchmarks analysis
Exposure to heterogeneous computing and co-processor architecture
Deep understanding of Android framework and internals.
Hands on experience on Android HAL, system level programing.
Deep understanding of ARM system, DSP and CPU architecture with Strong C/C++ working knowledge
Working experience with any of the Hypervisor architecture (KVM, QNX, Open synergy, Green hills, etc.)
Strong software development skills, C and C++ programming, problem analysis, and debugging skills.
Knowledge on Python, T32 CMM, Bash scripting language is a plus.
Ability to derive, document, and present high-level system requirements from the associated detailed technology requirements.
