Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical compliance counsel to key stakeholders on legal and compliance risks under US export, import, and sanctions laws, in addition to Dell's trade compliance policies

  • Lead investigations of alleged violations of law, applicable Dell policies, Dell's Code of Conduct or Dell's Partner Code of Conduct

  • Support engagement with regulatory agencies related to Dell’s trade compliance program and strategic priorities

  • Contribute to strategic team and department projects and initiatives, including through industry benchmarking, to identify potential compliance gaps or opportunities to enhance Dell’s compliance program

  • Manage risk-based due diligence processes to take appropriate smart-risk mitigation activities

Essential Requirements

  • J.D. plus admission to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction required

  • 6+ years legal experience in trade regulatory work and/or trade-related investigation in a law firm, regulatory agency, and/or business environment

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of various US trade compliance laws; must have expertise in at least one of the following areas: US sanctions laws, US export controls laws and/or US customs/tariff laws

  • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive and/or proactive strategies; ability to anticipate legal compliance issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
