Join JPMC to lead the development of long term category strategies for managing supplier spend and risk, execute sourcing projects and lead negotiations.
As a Technology Category Manager, Vice President in Global Supplier Services, you will be covering IT hardware & infrastructure categories, including End User Computing, Managed Print Services, or other assigned products and services. You will play a key role in the firm’s continued modernization and transition new architecture and technologies to improve client and user experience. You will identify best-in-class suppliers, source products, and negotiate pricing and terms. You will find and unlock value through optimizing commercial relationships, and protect the firm by managing third party risk.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of multi-year category and supplier spend management strategies.
- Conduct in-depth cost and spend analysis to develop target savings & drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Drive sourcing events: work with stakeholders to define requirements, identify qualified suppliers, execute competitive selection processes, and negotiate contracts.
- Partner and collaborate with internal business & technology stakeholders, in-house Legal, Risk and Finance teams, and your colleagues in GSS.
- Develop subject matter & market expertise; provide thought leadership and become trusted partner of internal decision makers.
- Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to identify and develop value added opportunities and comprehensive sourcing strategies.
- Develop and execute strategies in supplier optimization, risk mitigation, order & payment compliance, and preferred supplier identification.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 7+ years of experience in managing information technology categories and spend, with proven, delivered results.
- Commercial mindset and negotiation ability, especially relating to infrastructure products and services.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior management. Explain commercial and contractual concepts, and how value is being delivered.
- Market Research: ability to conduct market/industry/supplier analysis and synthesize data into a consumable format.
- Risk Management: knowledge of business risk factors and business savvy to minimize risk appropriately and communicate acceptance of risk factors when required.
- Sourcing Methodology: strong knowledge and experience in strategic category management, the key aspects of the RFI/RFP/RFQ and five step sourcing process.
- Bachelor’s Degree

- Financial services industry experience
- Legal acumen; strong understanding of complex master-level agreements
