About the role:

In Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) we offer solutions for treating irregular heart rhythms and heart failure and protecting against sudden cardiac arrest. This role is responsible for providing mechanical engineering support and expertise in the definition, design, development and evaluation of new and existing cardiac leads and related accessories.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
  • Actively participates and collaborates in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, global team environment, often coordinating projects activities or supporting peers in the same.
  • Problem solving using data and statistics to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality, including identification of failure modes related to design alternatives and device function.
  • Develops test methods and completes test method validations including gage R&Rs.
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
  • Drafts design Verification & Validation protocols and reports.
  • Investigates and evaluates existing technologies and manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborates with and provides work direction to test technicians.
  • Communicates research and experimental results to the technical community and management.
  • Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress.
  • Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with 2+ years related work experience or M.S. degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with internship, co-op, or research experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Product design or process development experience.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (medical device, aerospace, defense, pharmaceutical, etc.).
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD technology.
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodology and tools.
  • Experience working hands-on designing and evaluating test methods and fixtures.
  • Proficiency in basic statistical methods for data analysis (e.g. T-Test, ANOVA, DOE)
  • Self-starting, independent thinker with strong communication skills and leadership aspirations
  • Familiarity with a risk-based design controls process to establish design safety and efficacy

Maximum Salary: $ 132000

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
