Description
The ideal engineer for this role is comfortable working in a dynamic and creative team charged with exploring an uncharted and rapidly evolving domain. In this role, you will be responsible for shipping world-class user experiences and act as the voice of our end-users. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will support testing of RealityKit features related to 3D graphics and rendering. You will be part of a team to drive the quality via extensive hands-on functional testing of user-facing features and systems. You will be responsible for setting the bar high, going beyond ensuring a great experience and helping ship robust and amazing products. You'll need to take an active role in shaping the quality of our software. This will demand deep integration with our development engineers, developing test plans and user studies, bug triaging, and supporting design reviews. In this role you should be able to identify the gaps in the existing test coverage for your areas, add test cases for them and close them with long-term focus in mind. You will also work closely with the Automation team to prioritize and expedite automation initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience developing detailed test plans, assessing risks, filing detailed defect reports, and providing relevant data for test reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools
  • Troubleshoot, triage and provide detailed debug information for expediting issue resolution
  • Proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details with focus on end-user experiences and ability to go above and beyond to ensure a high quality release
  • Experience testing large technology stacks with many software and hardware components
  • Ability to drive cross-functional communications, understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or minimum of 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge about computer graphics and rendering
  • Exposure to augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) applications
  • Knowledge and familiarity of Apple family of devices
  • Ability to design user-studies and perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Experience with testing consumer electronics, mobile applications and experiences
  • Familiarity with gaming engines and platforms such as Unity, Unreal
  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $117,800 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
