As a
Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead work-center process control as the technical resource on manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Lead local management of change projects with focus on communication, risk evaluation, and execution of process and product changes
  • Identify process and equipment improvements while utilizing continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) to implement systematic changes that deliver unit cost reductions
  • Proactively communicate project direction and status to appropriate personnel
  • Actively participate in relevant corporateprograms/initiatives,complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards
  • Supports product and processes for existing operations with a willingness to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution, AND two (2) years of combined experience in project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, product development, or quality experience in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • Master's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Five (5) years in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, and/or product development in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams through projects from planning to completion
  • Experience using continuous improvement methods and statistical tools in problem solving
  • Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to product Quality Improvement, Unit Cost Modeling, and Cost Reduction projects
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to influence across all levels in the plant
  • Excellent problem solving, root cause, and analytical skills
