DESCRIPTION

Kuiper Productivity Engineering (KPE) is seeking a motivated and autonomous builder to deliver results to our customers. This is a hands-on position where your daily activities will range from strategic planning to new system development to supporting the customers that depend on our services. Deliver consistent, well-defined results in an agile systems development workflow. To succeed in this role, you will deliver reliable, scalable, controlled working environments built on AWS.Export Control Requirements: Due to the need to access certain federal controlled information, you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.Key job responsibilities
* Manage and maintain the team's fleet of license servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
* Collaborate directly with customers to understand their unique use cases and implement tailored solutions
* Oversee the regular updating of license daemons and upgrading of server operating systems
* Implement and improve observability measures across the team's infrastructure
* Lead, refine, and automate the upgrade process for services like Atlassian and Nextcloud
* Manage File Storage solutions
* Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for all managed systems
* Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and updates
* Apply DevOps best practices to improve system reliability, scalability, and security
* Troubleshoot complex issues across various platforms and services* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in system administration and DevOps
* Document processes, configurations, and system architectures
* Mentor junior team members in system administration and DevOps practices
* Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability and supportA day in the life
In this role, you will function as a DevOps Engineer. You will operate and support the team's services, as well as developing automation for upgrades/patching/testing, and enhance observability of the systems. You will work with stakeholders and senior engineers to design and develop custom solutions and integrations between tools and other services in a secure manner.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience with networking fundamentals including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, routers, etc.
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
