Today
In the cellular modem development, the RF system is developed, characterised and optimised before it gets integrated into different kind of products. As an RF system validation engineer you have a wide range of responsibility during the complete development cycle. This starts by defining the test scope, planning and developing the tests cases, which are then used to characterise and optimise the RF system. You will own regression tests that monitor the achieved performance during the entire development and productization phase. Your competence and dedication is required to solve very tricky functional and performance failures reported from the product testing and is needed all the way until the lunch of the product. Your collaboration skills will enable you to overcome technical challenges which needs to be resolved by different teams located in various locations across the world.Your role will include but not be limited to the following tasks:• Definition and planning of the test scope, a detailed study and excellent understanding of the system specifications in order to identify the most relevant and challenging system use-cases.• Implementation of tests, requiring equally strong RF, HW and SW competences, usage of the cellular system knowledge to conceive relevant regression campaigns with un-compromised coverage and short execution time.• Maintain the installed quality gates, constantly appending the coverage in order to address all encountered functional or performance spec failures.• Characterisation and optimisation of the downlink system performance, following the defined process of the required automation flow, which will help coping with the multi-dimensional solution space.• Debugging of functional or performance issues, requiring a strong RF expertise with the capability to understand how those RF KPIs can influence the system behaviour.• Track the status and progress of the project execution, by defining metrics with well defined verdicts.• Drive RF related problems to a solution involving and collaborating with all relevant colleagues from different disciplines. (System Engineering, HW, FW and SW development teams)• Secure the product validation readiness at the 1st day of the HW availability by Virtual Prototyping.
