  • We are looking for an individual that has a passion for developing solutions within the Risk and Compliance domain. Do you have boundless energy and passion for engineering data used to solve dynamic problems? With the sheer scale of Walmart’s environment comes the biggest of big data sets. As an Information Security Decision Scientist, you will focus on data exploration, acquisition, integration, and utilization to enable risk analyses at-speed. The target-state you will help build will have robust data sets in place to be utilized by machine learning models to quantify risk so that when risk crosses people’s minds we’re able to deliver expedient, high-fidelity analyses. You will be responsible for designing and implementing adaptive algorithms that drive AI systems, collaborating with data scientists, risk experts, and data engineers, as well as developing machine learning models that generate accurate predictions.

What You'll Do:

  • Apply data engineering techniques and best practices for data centric operations related to the Risk and Compliance domain
  • Aggregate, stage and process large data sets to meet business needs of managing security issues for Risk and Compliance domain.
  • Work across the entire risk and vulnerability management ecosystem with executives, product owners, stakeholders and customers for efficient data flow, aggregation, and exchange
  • Build data pipelines, fine tune and scale pipelines for organization data processing requirements
  • Continuously research, experiment, and stay current with technology improvements and directions
  • Manage data integration layers, upstream and downstream data flow insights, and operations
  • Work with SQL, NoSQL, streaming, and graph technologies that deal with large scale data sets that prevail in Cloud and Non-Cloud environments
  • Work with security engineers, external teams, and partners in an agile manner to build and release product features that cater to business requirements
  • Use your knowledge of data architectures, data patterns, and big data solutions to support large scale data processing as part of vulnerability management in the Risk and Compliance domain
  • Build complex logical models and provide guidance to team on physical data models
  • Identify and define the appropriate techniques for exposing data to other systems
  • Develop and maintain statistical applications used to quantify and manage risk to the organization

What You'll Bring:

  • Awareness about information security, vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, and Cassandra
  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache Storm, Flink, and Kafka
  • Experience in data orchestration frameworks like Airflow, Dagster, and Luigi
  • Working experience in Azure and GCP Cloud solutions and platforms
  • Working experience in programming languages such as Wolfram, JavaScript, Java, Python, and R.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages and technology
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating and developing with CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to create web apps and using React for front-end development
