Microsoft Test Engineer - ATE Content Development

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product and test engineering, specializing in ATE test program development
  • 8+ years of experience in developing integrated circuits (pre-silicon, first silicon bring-up, new product introduction).
  • 8+ years’ experience in large scale and/or high performance (i.e., AI, machine leaning, neural nets, CPU’s) and/or high power SoCs/chips on advanced process nodes.
  • Breadth and depth in global SOC areas like Boot, JTAG , Clocking, Resets, Security, fuses etc..
  • Good understanding of SoC architecture
  • Experience interacting with 3rd party vendor on IP definition and sign-off.
  • Operate lab equipment tools, ATE and Optical Probe Tools (LADA, EMMI, LVI)
  • Understanding of Semiconductor and Package manufacturing fail modes
  • Familiarity with PFA techniques and how to submit PFA jobs requests
  • Experience with physical layout tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in DFT and DFD techniques. Deep technical hands on experience in any of test content area: Scan SSN, MBIST, Functional Test, IO and Analog.
  • Good understanding of bring-up/debug, characterization/manufacturing test (on ATEs).
  • Hand-on failure analysis, testing and circuit design experience.
    Advantest V93K experience is a plus
    Ability to drive development and bring up test content on mixed signal IP’s is a plus.
  • Strong probability and statistics background including DOE’s.
  • Experience in
    • Leading cross functional teams and understanding program/project management.
    • Managing supply chain, vendors / partners, and Integrated Circuit production.
    • Experience in system/customer requirements gathering and interfacing.
  • Device physics background.
  • Trusted Computer architecture fundamentals/background
  • Great unit/integration testing skills
  • Solid coding experience using Phyton and/or Java (Smart Test 8)
    Background in debugging and optimizing software

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The position will have responsibilities for Silicon Test Engineering for Microsoft’s Cobalt and Maia Silicon that is used for Azure Data Center and AI. The position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Expertise in specific/multiple test content area such as ATPG (SSN), Memory, Functional, IO, Analog(Thermal, Power Delivery, Telemetry).
  • Develop pre silicon validation test plan (in partnership with design) and post silicon test plan which covers quality, reliability and debug purpose.
  • Be the voice from post silicon team to sign off the required test coverage quality that meets the DPPM goal.
  • Pre silicon simulation of test content usage model and how it gets integrated into ATE flow at wafer and package level.
  • Developing ATE test methods and characterization for test modules
  • Responsible for Failure Analysis and Fault Isolation activities of Microsoft’s Cobalt and MAIA, including reliability qual fail and customer RMA product.
  • Providing comprehensive failure analysis by using combination of in-house and 3rd party FA lab facilities to get the analysis done and co-working/communicating the FA findings with cross-organization team members including hardware designer, product, package, testing engineer, etc. for root-cause finding.
  • Involve in 1st silicon debug and able to debug issues from test hardware, test program or test content. Able to provide workaround if there is any issue found from test hardware and/or test program.
  • Analyzing test data to identify test program or silicon issues and working with cross functional teams to root cause will also be a focus.
  • Part of a larger team that correlates test solution to lab/OSAT/customer platform to validate silicon design, process, package, and manufacturability to product specifications.
  • Knowledge of platform, package, and silicon power management and thermal is a plus and the ability to connect the dots will help in addressing any product quality issues.
  • Knowledge of system level test is a plus.
