In the Data Management area, we develop and operate automated cloud and on-premises solutions for large-scale performance evaluation of ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) / AD (autonomous driving) sensors and functions.
The focus for developing our applications follows the cloud first approach but might also include running our applications on-premises. Our goal is to design and build a highly scalable, efficient, and modular data platform. This platform will be used by engineers to run re-simulation pipelines, machine learning workloads, perform in-depth data analysis/analytics, visualize results, and more.
What you'll do:
Develop, maintain, and operate our Data Management cloud applications for ADAS/AD testing.
Research and implement state-of-the-art concepts and techniques in Cloud and Big Data scopes.
Adapt and apply our solutions within international customer projects in close cooperation with our function development teams.
Learn every day to leverage the best knowledge to solve the complex world’s problems of tomorrow.
Work in a highly motivated, international team using SAFE (or similar frameworks) as the overarching agile framework for coordination.
Challenge yourself and your teammates in delivering the best software we possibly can.
Collaborate with internal teams, teams from cooperation partners and external teams from contractors.
What you'll bring:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Expertise and experience in deep learning, transformers, large language model and statistical concepts.
Expert level skills in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn
2+ year of academic or industry experience with programming in C++, Linux, and/or tools experience (e.g., Git, Gitlab, Docker)
Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, vector database, jupyter notebooks, DB knowledge
Good understanding of cloud (preferably AWS), DevOps and MLOPs is preferred
Publication record with papers presented at top-tier machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR) are preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
4-6+ years of proven hands-on experience in using Hadoop-like Big Data frameworks – any Hadoop distribution and Apache Spark – or similar frameworks in cloud environments
4-6+ years of proven project experience as a product owner, data architect, lead developer or in a comparable function.
4-6+ years of proven hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
4-6+ years of proven hands-on experience using Docker and Kubernetes
4-6+ years of proven hands-on experience using infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm
4-10+ years of proven hands-on experience in writing clean, well-documented, reusable code in Scala, Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages, other languages are beneficial
Understanding of data platform architecture concepts: Data Lake, DWH and data modeling and Data Mesh.
Understanding of RDBMS, NoSQL DB technologies, and data warehousing solutions and tradeoffs
Generic knowledge in standard software development processes, such as code review, unit testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and similar
ADAS/AD sensor and software development/testing experience is very beneficial.
Hands-on skills in creating RESTful APIs are required and knowledge in creating web UIs is beneficial.
Product awareness and maker mindset
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with multi-functional teams
Excellent communication skills and fluent in English language

This is a full-time position based in our office in Unterschleißheim, Germany.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
