As an experienced professional in Business Analysis, you'll shape the technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the firm. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you'll interact with colleagues in various lines of businesses to learn about challenges and opportunities, and translate that insight into high-quality solutions. In addition to working with the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities. While your role requires deep technological skills – including expertise in everything from data management to functional design – it also hinges on teamwork and leadership. You'll offer clear guidance and feedback to your Business Analysis colleagues, while promoting the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Job responsibilities

• Creation of user stories with very clear description and greater level of detail including input and output fields, different use cases, leveraging techniques like spec by example, Gherkin syntax, or other structured specification approaches
• Maintaining a groomed, healthy, and prioritized product backlog (for at least 2 sprints), enabling teams to pick up stories efficiently and effectively
• User engagement, process & workflow analysis, and data analysis are essential elements in our design process. The role will have significant connectivity with upstream data providers and directly with bankers, our primary customers.
• Engage with Architect and tech leads to ensure that requirements are sufficiently communicated enabling technical design, estimation, and build.
• Creation of the activity flow diagrams for different use cases, including clear segregation of functionality and suggested communication protocols between different bounded contexts
• Write SQL queries for data analysis of the existing models and business flows
• Mapping functional requirements to components, enabling a common solution design across the platform

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• BS/BA degree or 10 years of experience in a business analyst or equivalent role with 5 years involvement in understanding business requirements
• Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
• Well versed with JIRA or similar agile project management software creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
• Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, anti-corruption layer, etc.
• Basic understanding of key technology concepts like async communication (messaging) vs sync communication (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.)
• Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
• Experience with tools like Postman, SQL developer and MS Visio is desired
• Detailed understanding & experience with software development frameworks like AGILE is desired
• A commercial mind-set to deliver short, medium, and long-term strategies to achieve sustained efficiency; an innovative thought process; focus on simplification
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
