What you'll do...
This is a critical technical leadership role that brings together your past software engineering experiences, thought leadership and your abilities to build bonds with developers, managers, operations, and other engineering leaders to develop products that operate at scale. You will engage in all aspects of software engineering including architect, design, develop and lead by influencing a world class group of engineers to develop solutions for the complex business problems to enable our associates to allow our members to save more and live better – every single day.
What You Will Do:
As Director of Engineering for the Sam’s Club engineering team, you will be providing leadership for various engineering teams, Sr. Managers and Architects. The role entails the following responsibilities:
Technically leads and mentor high-performance engineering teams, engineering managers and provide strategic direction and guidance to ensure delivery of high-quality products
Build and manage relations with the business partners and understand their business requirements. Closely work with the Product Management, Architects, and cross-functional teams
Work with stakeholders to define the future roadmap of the products, adopt latest technology innovation wherever necessary
Define engineering practices, product development patterns and drive products development to scale to Walmart requirements
Drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for process optimization
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
Follow agile methodologies and program practices in product development lifecycle and focus on team productivity improvements using right tools and processes.
What you'll bring:
Experience in Software Engineering developing world class (frontend and backend) mobile application:
Strong senior level engineering leadership expertise in large size company with retail experience.
Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams
Leading large-scale systems in fast-paced environments, startup experience is a plus
Expertise in full stack technologies (Java, iOS, Android, React Native, NoSQL/SQL etc.)
Expertise in multiple distributed technologies (e.g. Kafka, Microservices, etc.)
Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc.
Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.
Extensive experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.
Providing thought leadership and defining technology strategies
Being an admired subject matter expert in one or multiple technology areas
Directing and reviewing architectural artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes, architectural design) and providing valuable recommendations for improvements
Advising or conducting POCs to vet out new technologies
Driving for Architecture, Engineering, and Technology excellence
Extensive experience in retail is desirable.
Excellent communication skills.
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 15+ years of industry experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Minimum Qualifications...These jobs might be a good fit
