Responsible for working with internal teams and external project stakeholders through the entire development cycle on the siting, acquisition, design, and construction of utility and commercial battery storage, charging, solar, and microgrid projects
Serve as in-house subject matter expert on land development and environmental site constraints to support acquisition and entitlement of sites identified for energy and charging projects
Manage multiple projects throughout diligence, acquisition, planning, and deployment phases
Use GIS tools and databases to develop due diligence analyses for potential project sites across North America
Support preparation and submission of land use and environmental permit application
Attend site visits, public meetings/hearings, and agency coordination meetings, as well as, work with local, state, and federal permitting authorities through the siting and permitting process with the goal of obtaining permits consistent with the construction budget and schedule
Work with internal teams to solicit and review scopes of work from third party engineering and environmental consultants to support project development
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Environmental Planning or a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years applied land development experience; 8 years preferred
Experience and proficiency in coordinating with local and agency planning staff; researching and synthesizing code requirements; and preparing professional reports and exhibits
Knowledge of land use planning and environmental policy is required (e.g., CEQA/NEPA, CWA/CAA, NHPA, NPDES, USACE, ESA, EPA, local zoning, floodplain development, hazmat, etc.)
Knowledge of project design and civil construction fundamentals associated with commercial energy project development (battery storage, EV charging, solar PV) is preferred
Ability to identify potential site constraints and work with survey and design team to develop preliminary site plans – proficiency in ArcGIS or AutoCAD preferred
Experience managing external consultants and contractors through full scopes
