ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide engineering support for all manufacturing activities, particularly in tooling and fixture design, maintenance, and enhancement
- Develop concept designs for automation systems, including component handling and workstation layouts
- Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures for product qualification, prototype testing, and production systems
- Conduct tolerance studies, GD&T analysis, and simulations to ensure design accuracy
- Create 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar tools
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
- Manage engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely completion
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of automation components and equipment
- Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and design reviews to stakeholders
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & PROBLEM-SOLVING:
- Analyze and troubleshoot HSA tooling, fixtures, and equipment to perform corrective actions and meet customer requirements
- Conduct feasibility studies on new product transfers, tooling modifications, and process enhancements
- Optimize workstation layout and process flow to improve efficiency and space utilization
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and systematic problem-solving techniques to enhance automation performance
TRAINING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
- Act as the technical resource for new product transfers and tooling/fixture changes
- Provide engineering support on technical training to upskill the technical crew
- Train team members on the correct application of GD&T, tooling design concepts, and process optimization
