HRD258126- Project Mgmt Specialist II -Commodity Manager – Electrical & Electronics EMS
Develop regional supply base, drive localization, and achieve cost and productivity targets while ensuring supplier quality, compliance, and resilience.
Job Description:
1. India Supplier Development & Localization:
• Develop and execute strategies to grow the India EMS supply base to support global and regional sourcing needs.
• Identify new suppliers for PCB fabrication, PCBA, CCA, box build, and wire harnesses in India.
• Work with global Commodity Managers to position India as a strategic supply hub.
• Ensure supplier capability building for aerospace and high-reliability applications.
2. Cost Optimization & Productivity Improvement:
• Drive cost reduction by leveraging India’s cost advantages while ensuring quality and delivery performance.
• Execute LTC (Long-Term Contracts), should-cost modeling, and price negotiations with Indian EMS suppliers.
• Deliver productivity goals by optimizing total landed cost and supplier consolidation.
3. Supplier Management & Risk Mitigation:
• Qualify and onboard new EMS suppliers in compliance with Aerospace QMS standards.
• Work with suppliers to improve lead times, payment terms, and supply continuity.
• Develop risk mitigation plans, including dual sourcing and business continuity planning (BCP).
4. Collaboration with Global & Local Stakeholders:
• Engage with global Commodity Managers, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies.
• Support new product introductions (NPI) and transitions from global to India-based suppliers.
• Present India’s capabilities to senior leaders and decision-makers to secure new business awards.
5. Supplier Performance & Continuous Improvement:
• Implement supplier scorecards and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, IPC-610) and Honeywell’s supplier expectations.
• Lead supplier development programs, implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and DFX (Design for Excellence) initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain Management (preferred).
Technical & Functional Skills:
• Deep knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes (PCBA, SMT, conformal coating, wire harnesses).
• Cost modeling, LTC negotiations, and total cost of ownership evaluation.
• Expertise in supplier risk assessment, dual sourcing, and localization strategies.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and e-sourcing tools.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, IPC-610, NADCAP certifications).
