About The Position

In this role, you will drive the development, execution, and ongoing support of crucial regulatory projects across the organization. Acting as a key advisor on laws and regulations related to payments, digital assets, and cryptocurrency, you’ll play an essential role in coordinating and supporting global, cross-functional legal initiatives. You’ll also advise business, product, engineering, and compliance teams on best practices and scalable compliance strategies. Fireblocks operates at the intersection of technology and financial services, so you'll need to navigate both worlds comfortably each day.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory and legislative matters, providing guidance across global teams.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of virtual currency statutes, rules and regulations, newly issued guidance, and proposed rulemaking that may affect Fireblocks or its customers.
  • Draft and advise on policies, processes, systems, and internal controls necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, business, sales, and compliance teams to provide pragmatic guidance on financial technology, payments, and financial services.
  • Support integration of regulatory considerations into product design and business roadmap.
  • Help craft and develop thought leadership opportunities on behalf of Fireblocks in the digital asset and cryptocurrency space.
  • Draft and respond to relevant proposed rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain scalable solutions for regulatory controls across all jurisdictions.
  • Oversee regulatory audits and coordinate legal responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Stay informed on relevant international regulations and provide guidance to teams on meeting local regulatory standards.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as part of a fast-growing company with evolving regulatory needs.
Requirements
  • Law degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a regulatory or policy role in the digital asset space.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape for financial services in EMEA with an interest and/or experience in digital asset issues preferred
  • Demonstrated experience effectively engaging with regional capital markets and prudential regulators (e.g., FCA, VARA, HKMA, MAS, JFSA) and international standard-setting bodies
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to solve novel problems and provide effective advice in an uncertain regulatory environment
  • A strong interest in digital assets, crypto markets, and blockchain technology
  • Willingness to travel
