What will you do:
As a Software Security Engineer, you will apply cyber security development processes and tools to ensure strong cyber security of system software releases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the strong security of our systems and drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity. Your work will have a significant impact by implementing effective cybersecurity measures and mitigating emerging threats that will directly contribute to the safety and integrity of automation systems that power the modern world.
You will report directly to our Senior Software Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Sydney, Australia location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain test infrastructure including test design & automation, supporting software solutions & tools, and maintaining test systems.
- Design, create, maintain, and document complex system configurations and simulation tools to support functional and performance testing.
- Conduct system integration testing to ensure the functionality and performance of systems.
- Work on product enhancements to improve robustness of deployment, observability and troubleshooting of on-prem and cloud deployed production systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of industrial projects.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional software development teams to perform security tasks in compliance with global security processes to ensure secure software is built through the development lifecycle of products and systems.
- Conduct security assessments and risk analysis such as threat modelling and vulnerability evaluation to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies in our products and systems.
- Perform cyber security testing of products and systems.
- Participate in incident response activities, contributing technical expertise to resolve security incidents promptly.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices.
You Must Have
- Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, frameworks, and best practices & processes.
Experience with security assessment tools and techniques (e.g. Threat Modelling).
We Value
Relevant certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable
- Experience with cybersecurity in Industrial systems (both on-premise and cloud hosted) highly valued
Experience with software testing methods and tools.
