What you’ll be doing:
As a Chemical and Materials Engineer at NVIDIA, your primary responsibilitieswill be centered around developing immersion cooling system testingprocedures, thresholds, and mitigation strategies to ensure the accurateselection of fluids and wetted materials for compatibility, thereby safeguardingnext-generation GPU and DGX server products. You will provide expert support
Your role will encompass the following key areas:
Cooling System Testing Procedures:Develop and implementmeticulous testing procedures for evaluating the performance andcompatibility of cooling fluids and wetted materials in data centerenvironments. These procedures will be critical in ensuring the reliabilityand efficiency of our systems
Thresholds and Mitigation:Establish clear performance thresholds anddevelop mitigation strategies to address any issues identified duringtesting. Your expertise will be instrumental in proactively addressingpotential challenges and minimizing system downtime.
Fluids and Materials Compatibility:Conduct in-depth analyses andstudies to ensure compatibility between selected immersion fluids andwetted materials, considering factors such as chemical leaching fromcomponents into the fluid, component degradation, fluid degradation, heat transfer efficiency, corrosion resistance, and environmental impact. You will assist design teams in selection of correct TIMS, gap pads, capacitors, and other components compatible with immersion fluidchemistry.
Laboratory Testing:Collaborate with internal teams to developcomprehensive specifications , scopes of work, and Request for Proposals(RFPs) for fluid and materials testing laboratories. This will involve defining the requirements and standards vital to support NVIDIA's globaldata center growth.
Vendor Management:Lead laboratory testing vendors in alignmentwith NVIDIA's technical and business requirements. You will act as aliaison between our organization and external partners to ensure thattesting processes and results meet our high standards.
