Your key responsibilities
- Performing detailed review of Corporate Tax returns, both domestic and Foreign (1120, 1120-S and 1120-F) for US Federal and State – Blockers, Management companies and Banking Industry.
- Reviewing Book to tax adjustments and reclasses.
- Must have working experience on Single entities and consolidated returns, State and Local - Combined and Unitary returns
- Review Extensions/estimates/withholding work papers
- Review and preparation of international tax fillings such as Form 926, 5471, 5472, 5452, 8991 and 8992.
- Responsible for reviewing/calculating ECI, FDAP and Foreign Withholding Information for foreign investors-1042/1042S, 8804/8805.
- Knowledge of Tax provisions (ASC 740): Knowledge on standard audit documentation.
- Must be knowing how to compute the tax basis and Earnings and Profit (E&P)
- Must have full knowledge on reading the 1065 return and federal and state K-1
- Knowledge about addressing and responding federal and state notices.
- Knowledge about recent tax developments and changes including Schedules K-2/K-3 reporting requirement.
- E-file tax return and review XMLS and check for any E-file rejects
- Manage assigned task throughout end-to-end process in timely manner
- Train and guide Staff (new and experienced) on client related specific policies and general firm standards
- Guide, mentor Staff (new and experienced) for upskilling, technical advancement, and performance management.
- Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work when necessary to meet your annual chargeability goal
- Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently.
Skills and attributes for success
- Knowledge of Accounting standards and basic understanding of accounting principals
- Proficient on Gosystem/OneSource Income Tax and corp. tax
- Ensuring adoption and specialization of EY methodologies, EY tools and technology specific to tax
- Knowledge of recent tax laws and update
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and New Joiners on different tax engagements
- Proactively interact with client management team to gather information and engagement specific treatments and process.
- Work as team player with team and other members to achieve the deliverables in stipulated time with quality.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance
- CPA/EA will be an added advantage (Completed or Pursuing)
- 4 to 7 years of experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Awareness (basic understanding) of other US taxes 1065/1040, International Tax Compliance.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply the tax legislation
