As a Researcher within the Business Research Center (BRC), you will be responsible for working independently in a global organization providing research services mainly to the Investment Banking division within the firm, using market data and publicly available information. You will grow your knowledge and skill base such that you are able to handle all levels of work from basic to complex to respond to research questions from investment bankers and lead process improvement. You will report to the local Operations Manager.

Job responsibilities

• Perform research of preliminary data for front office
• Answer inquiries from bankers in a timely, accurate and value add manner by selecting the most appropriate sources
• Engage directly with bankers and partner with colleagues to provide high quality and professional client service
• Embrace and build team relationships both locally and globally, collaborating on projects as required
• Identify opportunities to lead process improvements that positively impact the banker experience
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
• Proficient in English and Japanese languages with both spoken and written skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize work and thrive under pressure
• Demonstrate strong client-focus
• Ability to think critically and creatively
• Possess a passion to grow knowledge, insight and skillset

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• General understanding of the financial sector and investment banking industry
• Database search experience, particularly with Factset, Eikon, Capital IQ, Factiva, Dealogic, Bloomberg and/or Nikkei Telecom
• Previous experience in a similar environment
