We are looking for a Senior Trenchless Engineer to help to meet the ever increasing global demand for energy and water. This position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our clients design, build and maintain energy and water pipeline systems worldwide. The position also offers the ability to grow a technical practice area with our global group and to attract and mentor additional staff as required. As a Senior Trenchless Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing field exploration and laboratory testing programs, conducting geotechnical and numerical analyses for trenchless installations, preparing geotechnical data, HDD and micro tunnelling design, preparation of baseline reports, and developing trenchless related project specifications for pipeline projects. Each day, you will have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through the construction phase.

Key Duties;

  • Design of HDD installations and micro tunnel.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, data reports and baseline reports.
  • Complete engineering analysis and prepare design calculations.
  • Prepare design drawings and construction specifications.
  • Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Share technical knowledge across geographical boundaries to foster innovative project solutions.
  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Drive ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution, office and personal environments.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

You should be a self-motivated professional with a successful track record of at least 5 years in Trenchless Engineering as well as hold a qualification in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.

The candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of the principles of soil and rock mechanics. Your experience with design assignments in HDD, including analysis of installation and operational stresses in the pipeline, the risks of hydraulic fracturing, equipment and easement requirements, geologic processes, and rig operational requirements will contribute to your success. You should have experience with design and construction projects as well as field soil and rock classification, and the desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each trenchless engineering job.

Here's what you'll need
  • Develop and participate in field assignments that may include observation of explorations (soil and rock, test pits, CPT probes, geophysical testing) and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring.
  • Analyse laboratory testing results and select geotechnical design parameters.
  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (C.Eng MICE).
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience mentoring a small group.
  • Field construction experience with HDD operations.
  • Design assignments in foundation engineering, pipe jacking and tunnelling will further contribute to your success.
  • A desire to grow a group of technical individuals to service HDD projects globally.
  • CAD/C3D design experience.
