Tax Technology and Transformation offers services to companies in response to the impact of existing and emerging technology, including the growing data burden that many businesses face, driving efficiencies to create a cost-effective Tax or Legal function and the understanding of how to make data an asset. Tax Technology and Transformation comprises the following services

The primary role is to collaborate with clients to enhance the performance and value-add of their technical solutions and operations. As part of the Law Solutions team, you will focus on assisting to increase automation in legal department processes, enhance analytic capabilities through data integration and implement solutions that will enable the Legal department to deliver quality output and contribute more strategically to the enterprise. This technical leader will be responsible for assessing, designing, developing, and implementing legal and contract management technology, automated workflows and data science projects to improve operational efficiency and provide actionable insights.

Your key responsibilitiesDepending on your unique skills and ambitions, you could be supporting various client projects, from assisting in the production of leading practice solutions, to implementing third-party applications, to supporting and automating internal and external operations of multinational Tax and Legal departments. Whatever you find yourself doing, you will contribute and help toward developing a highly trained team, all the while handling activities with a focus on quality and commercial value. This is a highly regulated industry, so it is all about maintaining our reputation as trusted advisors by taking on bold initiatives and owning new challenges. You will be instrumental in enhancing efficient and effectiveness within the legal department by thoughtfully integrating technology, legal automation tools, and data management capabilities.


Skills and attributes for success

  1. Legal and contract management technology assessment and implementation
    1. Conduct assessment to determine the compatibility and effectiveness of potential legal and contract management technology solutions
    2. Collaborate with legal, IT, and business stakeholders to understand specific requirements and challenges
    3. Evaluate existing technologies used by the legal department to identify opportunities for improvement
    4. Research and recommend technology solutions that align with business needs
    5. Assist in the development of criteria for selecting legal and contract management technology vendors
    6. Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the implementation of legal and contract management technology solutions
    7. Maintain detailed documentation of legal department technology assessments and implementations
    8. Configure and test third-party legal systems
    9. Provide training and support to users during the implementation phase
    10. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends
    11. Drive the continuous improvements of our implementation methodology and service offerings based on client experience
    12. Oversee the full end-to-end system configuration lifecycle including preparation, design, build, test, training, deployment, and post Go Live activities
  2. Emerging technology and data strategy
    1. Perform data analysis and support science-related projects to support business decisions, underpinned by a deep understanding of the data, its sources and potential uses
    2. Utilize data modeling techniques and advanced statistical analysis to discover patterns and trends that will influence business strategies
    3. Implement emerging technologies such as RPA, AI, GenAI, and Self-Service workflows to enhance efficiency and drive cost reduction
    4. Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve and streamline business processes, leveraging the latest technology innovations
    5. Support the transformation of complex data into clear and actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
    6. Supervise the creation of data-driven dashboards, legal data warehouse integration with existing legal software, data and document migration from legacy enterprise systems into a new selected product

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of related experience
  • Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
  • Strong understanding of various legal technology solutions and their applications, including matter management/eBilling, document management and/or contract management
  • Strong experience implementing third-party legal systems (e.g., Agiloft, Docusign, Sirion, Onit, Malbek) including workflows
  • A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving business skills
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully sell and deliver large enterprise programs
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and delivering project management services
  • Oversee a team of developers and analysts, both onshore and offshore
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you'll also have at least two of the following:

  • Microsoft Power BI suite, including Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View and Power Map
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and development of databases (specifically SQL Server)
  • Write and maintain code for integration solutions, including APIs and middleware technologies
  • Experience in scripting languages using Python, Java, or other tools
  • Experience with developing ETL solutions using middleware tools or scripting logic
  • ERP experience, including SAP and/or Oracle
  • Experience in Tax or Legal function, transformation and automation
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Lean principles
  • Proficient in data modeling and AI-driven analysis, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,400 to $230,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,600 to $261,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
