Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 + years of relevant experience in the area of SQL Server, Azure SQL, Sybase, Oracle.
  • Proven customer facing experience.• Enterprise-scale data migration experience from SQL/Sybase/Oracle platforms, starting from project scoping to data/app migration and final certification and post-migration optimizations.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• Development experience with programming languages like PowerShell, C# & C++.
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture building complex globally distributed solutions.

Responsibilities

• Strong developer & architecture background with expertise in SQL Server & Azure SQL.
• Proven experience in Sybase ASE & IQ to drive modernizations to Azure SQL will be a key skillset.
• Extensive experience in building SQL based distributed, low latency, high throughput applications adhering to compliance requirements will be critical skillset to succeed in this role.
• Working knowledge of replication solutions SQL native as well as 3rdparty replication technologies like HVR, Qlik, Striim, or Oracle GoldenGate.
• Ability to engage in customer facing complex engagements ranging from PoCs to performance tuning & optimization.
• Work with feature PMs and Software Engineers from other Azure Database teams to improve our products and services by finding and suggesting well-researched improvements and taking charge of driving these changes when needed.
• Document and share learnings and technical best practices / insights within engineering as well as the wider architect community and contribute to key engineering activities such as telemetry, code and design specification reviews.
• Advise on best practice architectures for data relevant solutions and execute quick technical feasibility and proposals for moving identified workloads to Azure Data Platform.
• Ensure security is front and center of all architecture proposals and work as well as a cornerstone of all custom developed IPs and solutions.
