Microsoft Sr Product Manager

To achieve this mission, we are looking for a Sr. Product Manager to drive the security work on risk reduction and remediation. In this fast paced, high visibility and impactful role, you will work deeply with service owners across Microsoft to understand the risks to their environments, identify the data sources, tools, and processes to mitigate any risks that may materialize, and continually evolve these based on a deep understanding of the threat landscape. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams to develop the tools and systems we will need to effectively identify, drive remediation and report the risks to senior executives.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical program management role
  • Proven ability and willingness to operate and influence teams in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to drive executive communications
  • Ability to provide structure to an ambiguous problem space – you are expected to define KPIs/metrics and get stakeholders on the same page and create strategy documents
  • Experience with analytical/quantitative tools used for IR – SQL, ADX, Kusto etc. is desired
  • Experience with developer workflows

Responsibilities
  • Work with security teams across division to ensure teams are equipped to put “first things first” when working toward meeting Microsoft security “high bar”
  • Work with security drivers and planning champs to surface alignment issues or course corrections, and work through them
  • Work with stakeholders on prioritization and planning processes to understand their scenarios and mitigating controls.
  • Communication and active engagement with Partners are needed.
  • Drive impact and change through dovetailing into existing workflows and enterprise customer programs
  • Develop “best-in-class” structure and Rhythm of Business for the team to succeed, ensuring the goals short and long term are well-defined and realistic
  • Develop KPIs and other success metrics, and regularly drive improvements and enhancements to the roadmap and strategy
