Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Experience with optical network installation, maintenance, and operations for a network service provider or enterprise networks.
Experience with ISP network operations or enterprise/IT network infrastructure support.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Experience with Unix/Linux administration with scripting/coding.
Experience in either optical or IP network operations.
Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and network routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS) and infrastructure.
Ability to employ good troubleshooting methodology and use of creative problem solving under pressure.
