Description
In this role, you will assist in advancing PVD coating technology through hands-on projects that involve research, simulation, and analysis. You will gain practical experience in coating deposition, stress characterization, and property optimization. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to study various techniques for improving adhesion, stress resistance, and deposition quality for both metal and glass substrates.Key Responsibilities:• Conduct studies on ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Plasma for reflective index and composition, exploring how ICP can enhance adhesion properties of PVD coatings.• Perform PVD stress characterization on glass and metal surfaces, analyzing the correlation between coating stress, adhesion, and chipping.• Utilize COMSOL simulation tools to model PVD deposition thickness on 3D surfaces, optimizing coating performance across complex geometries.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and improve coating processes and deposition techniques.• Analyze data and contribute to reports detailing findings and recommendations to enhance the performance and reliability of PVD coatings.• Assist with the development of new coating materials and processes, testing various configurations to support product innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Available for a full-time internship (6~12 months).
  • Experience with PVD thin film deposition (e.g., Sputtering) and characterization methods (e.g., XPS, SEM, AFM).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Mandarin.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Master or Ph.D. degree with a focus on materials science, thin film deposition, or surface engineering.
  • Prior internship experience in material science, sputtering coating technologies, or simulation-based engineering projects.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in materials science, thin film deposition techniques, and surface science.
  • Familiarity with PVD, plasma physics, or coating deposition technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming and simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, MATLAB, or similar).
  • Ability to work big data analytics and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and a deep interest in advanced manufacturing technologies.
