ABOUT YOU:You are a bold individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal supervision at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels. You have excellent communication, organization and leadership skills as this is relevant in our complex environment. The leadership role requires you to build trust and persistently remove ambiguity by seeking to reduce complexity. This role is pivotal in developing a broad organizational perspective and requires facilitation and execution on strategic decisions as well as have a pulse on what is happening in the industry. Additionally, this leadership role supports the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures, in order to achieve required maturity and effectiveness, all while leading and growing teams of extraordinary project managers.Systems within this scope are complex, so you will not only be expected to be able to readily understand complicated and subtle interdependencies, but also to evaluate new requests and new information in light of how it affects or is affected by those systems. Being able to think on your feet is important, as is the ability to efficiently debate the validity of a given approach to any aspect of a project under your control. You have strong social and interpersonal skills.Key to your success will be the need to act as a business product thought problem solver on applicable domains, analyzing business risks, needs and requirements, participating and representing as the need arises in problem solving and design of engineering discussions.You'll need a strong background in engineering program & project management complemented by your technical abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical / engineering program managers, and leading highly efficient & impactful teams
  • 10+ years experience in software development project management for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domains
  • A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority
  • Experience leading large scale Infrastructure programs with focus on Cloud environments
  • Exceptional organizational & engineering project management skills, with deep technical acumen
  • Experience prioritizing features, and leading & presenting technical roadmaps
  • Self-motivated and proactive with validated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kubernetes is highly desirable
  • Agile project experience with ability to demonstrate knowledge of SCRUM methodologies and/or played the role of a Scrum Master is plus
  • Ability to handle & deliver multiple simultaneous end-to-end infrastructure projects, partnering with communities comprising of various engineering teams and their extended technical teams
  • Experience delivering end-to-end projects; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements gathering sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent experience
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,100 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
