About the Role
Problems we’re working on include:
- What information or promotions do our users find the most engaging and compelling? How and when should we send these messages?
- Do our marketing campaigns compete with one another for the attention of our audiences, and how can we adjudicate among them?
- What is the cost to our business when a user unsubscribes from marketing communications?
What You'll Do
- Design and analyze experiments on our email, push, and SMS campaigns to estimate the impact of our marketing comms – campaign-by-campaign and holistically – on user behavior, sentiment, and perceptions.
- Support Uber’s global teams of marketers by discovering and answering open questions about marketing effectiveness.
- Collaborate with applied scientists in the Paid Marketing and Marketplace teams to refine our statistical methods and disseminate best practices.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to enhance instrumentation and infrastructure for experimentation and measurement.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD, MS, or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or another quantitative field
- Experience with experimental and observational analysis techniques
- Proficiency with SQL and a programming language such as R or Python
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to develop and execute on an applied science or research roadmap
- Experience managing or mentoring technical individual contributors
- Previous experience in CRM or Marketing
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
