As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Fixed Income Currency & Commodities (GFICC) Portfolio Management Technology team, you will play a key role in delivering secure, stable, and scalable solutions to support the firm’s business objectives. You will work collaboratively as part of an agile team to enhance and build a market-leading Fixed Income Portfolio Management system. In addition to being a core technical contributor, you will act as a liaison for the APAC GFICC desk, overseeing platform rollouts, resolving regional requirements, and ensuring alignment with global builds.
Job responsibilities
- Develop secure, high-quality production code in Java, and review and debug code written by others to ensure adherence to best practices and performance standards.
- Collaborate with global teams to deliver core builds and resolve dependencies with a delivery-focused mindset.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for the APAC GFICC desk, maintaining high visibility and clear communication.
- Lead the rollout of the Fixed Income Portfolio Management platform for the APAC desk, including managing pilot runs and product onboarding.
- Identify and articulate gaps between global build and regional requirements, collaborating with product owners and global project managers to drive delivery.
- Coach and mentor junior developers, fostering their technical growth, improving coding practices, and ensuring professional development.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training in software engineering concepts and 5+ years hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong proficiency in Java development with a track record of delivering secure, scalable and high-performance solutions.
- Understanding of financial markets and asset management.
- Pro-active and excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with audiences across different levels including senior managers.
- Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and escalate issues appropriately to regional and global leadership when necessary.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Fixed income experience is a plus.
