Summary of the role

  • Co-ordinating the provision of global employment law advice to multinational clients. This will include liaising with local EY Law teams (and/or third-party law firms) by email and on Teams, as well as clients, managing deadlines effectively, and critically evaluating draft advice. It is likely that in some cases, the individual will need to raise queries with the local EY Law team (and/or third-party law firms) and / or amend the advice before it is provided to the client to ensure it is comprehensive, commercial, pragmatic and easy to understand;
  • Having overall responsibility to ensure that queries sent via the helpline are responded to within the client’s designated timescales;
  • Assisting more broadly with account management, to include tracking and reporting on requests for advice, invoicing, preparing analytic reports for client meetings etc;
  • Supporting with any value adds offered to clients alongside the employment law advice such as preparing training sessions or legal updates;
  • Supporting the development of the Employment Operate solution e.g. the build out of our employment law horizon scanning capability and document repository function (which involves housing and maintaining client HR policies, procedures and document templates);
  • Assisting in the drafting of proposals for global employment law support for prospective clients and project managing a wider team involved in preparing such proposals;
  • Participating in and helping to monitor and track our business development efforts as they relate to Employment Operate.

Requirements for the role

  • Qualified employment lawyer with practical experience of advising clients on employment law, and / or experienced Human Resources professional with experience of managing employee relations matters and interpreting associated legal advice;
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience;
  • Ideally, the candidate will have experience of advising on and / or managing employee relations matters relating to employees based in multiple countries outside of India;
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to interpret and critically evaluate employment law advice, considering whether the original question has been properly answered, whether the advice given is commercial and pragmatic, and whether it is well written and easy to understand;
  • Must be able to manage competing deadlines effectively;
  • Must be responsive, with strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ideally, the candidate would have a track record of working as part of an international team;
  • Able to deliver excellent client service;
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent written English.
